Storyline :
A distant boy finds a book in a hospital waiting room. He soon discovers that it is a diary of his immensely popular classmate Sakura, who reveals that she is secretly suffering from a fatal pancreatic disease. They become friends and spend time together.
Then promises to tell him when he will die. The following night, the boy with his family watches the news broadcast on TV that the girl was stabbed and died on the way home.He collapses and does not attend her funeral. Later he visits her mother and asks her about her diary. her mother recognizes him.
Sakura left a letter telling her to keep it and also to be her best friend, it was read by Kyouko who forgot everything and hated the boy. Before leaving, Sakura’s mother asks his name.He replies “Haruki”, to which she replies “so it must have been both of you”, explaining the meaning of their names Haruki (spring tree) and Sakura (cherry blossom).
